Arnie Ray DeatonArnie Ray Deaton, 86, of Decatur, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, in Decatur. Memorial service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the First United Methodist Church of Decatur.Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur is handling arrangements.He was born in 1932 in Decatur. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1949, and later from University of North Texas with a business degree.Arnie worked in banking in Houston and Dallas, specializing in all areas of trusts. He completed his career by partnering with a close colleague in his investment management business. Arnie returned to Wise County, resuming his membership in the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Decatur. There he met and married Judith Lee Boyer. He was a master mason, and the first male member of the Wise Health System Auxiliary.He is preceded in death by his first wife DeLaine (Branch) Deaton; sister Zoe Evelyn (Deaton) Gore; sons Arnie Ray Deaton Jr. and John Perry Deaton; and one great-grandchild.He is survived by his wife; children, Linda Kay Deaton and Suzanne Cox; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
